Introduction
- Installation of
WebAssistant
is very simple, unlike many other programs.
- When installing the application, the configuration of your computer is left untouched. No changes are automatically made, because
WebAssistant
is installed within one folder.
- Removing the application - if you would ever want to ;-) - is only a matter of deleting the MM3-WebAssistant folder.
WebAssistant
is written in Java, and therefore cross-platform. You will need Java Virtual Machine though.
Quick Start - You know your way
- Download
and decompress the ZIP archive: MM3-WebAssistant-Proxy-Offline-Browser-Professional.en.zip
- Start your browser, and enter
WebAssistant
as proxy in the preferences (often also options).
Default Address: 127.0.0.1:8080 or localhost:8080
- Start MM3-WebAssistant.jar
- Start browsing and archiving. You learn this basic principle from a test.

If the Quick Start instructions are a bit too short for you, here are these steps explained in more detail:
- After decompressing the
WebAssistant
ZIP archive you get the folder MM3-WebAssistantProfessional. You don't need administration rights to it.
- The program simply can be started by clicking the file MM3-WebAssistant.jar in the folder MM3-WebAssistantProfessional.
After that
WebAssistant
starts and a logo appears.
Solving Problems
Usually all goes well, but in some cases you won't see the logo appearing. If it's not your lucky day, and the logo doesn't
appear.
- First you get a short introduction, after which the license agreement is displayed.

Note
You receive with the button Next the next dialog and with the button Back the precede dialog.
- Please, select: Request your license for the evaluation
- Enter your name and e-mail address
The evaluation license will to be sent to you by e-mail within two working days. This license gives you permission to try the professional edition
for a month.
Solving Problems
- There isn't an online connection.
Connect to the internet and request your license (Send again ...).
- Your internet connection needs an additional proxy.
In the dialog box you enter the HTTP proxy address and port for your internet connection.
- For users of a Personal Firewall.

Before you can use WebAssistant
you will have to adjust the Proxy Settings in your browser.
Each browser will be different on details. These are the instructions in general:
- Please open your browser which you would like to use by browsing with the
WebAssistant.
- Find the dialog for setting the Proxy; very often Preferences/Advanced/Network
- Switch on the proxy and enter for protocol types HTTP, HTTPS and FTP
the IP address 127.0.0.1 and port 8080

Should you ever wish not to use the WebAssistant
for any particular operations, just deactivate the switched-on proxy. Some browsers make it easy to switch the proxy on and off. Please follow the note
to this at the end of the description of the select browser.

Until you receive the evaluation license, you can start using the the functionality of the Private edition.
When you receive the e-mail with your evaluation license, you will find a registration file attached with the name MM3-WebAssistantRegister.txt.
Please, store the registration file with your personal data.
You start the WebAssistant
and import the registration file with button Import a license.
Now you can archiving by browsing with the WebAssistant
